Family Care: A new project supporting the rehabilitation of trafficked women with children

Family Care Project

Praxis Community Projects is running a new project called Family Care, supporting women with children who have been trafficked into the UK as sex workers or domestic workers.

It is funded by the Children and Families Department of Tower Hamlets Council for three years.

Family Care offers 10 mothers and their children a service to help them recover from the trauma, rebuild their lives and resettle in the local community. This is a new, pilot approach to help support acutely vulnerable families by organizing peer support sessions, raising self-esteem workshops, improve self-confidence, access to services, regular day trips and more.

Do you work with any women who were brought to England by deceit and forced to work as sex workers or domestic workers against their will?

Are they now safe but feeling isolated and misunderstood?

Are they living in Tower Hamlets and do they have children?

Praxis has 25 years experience dealing with the most vulnerable and displaced people in the community.
