Our annual festival celebrating the music and culture of new communities.
More than 14,000 people visit the Praxis Centre in Bethnal Green every year, and we know better than anyone London’s rich diversity and the key role it plays in the development of the community.
To celebrate this diversity, we launched the New Voices Festival five years ago, in partnership with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, St John on Bethnal Green Church, Joule Events and the Museum of Childhood.
Attendance has grown at this popular festival, from 2,000 people in 2009 to over 9,000 people in 2012.
This free annual event is a celebration of the diverse migrant communities of East London and their contribution to the local economy and society. The festival incorporates a range of stalls, activities and live performances for the entire family, not to mention a wide array of delicious food! There are also workshops and information stands exploring issues surrounding migration and providing details of related support services, as we also celebrate the work done by different organisations in this sector.
Check out the New Voices website for details on upcoming acts and a photo gallery and video of past festivals.
