Training

Immigration policies and people’s entitlements are complex and frequently changing. The landscape of services available can be hard to navigate, making it difficult for migrants to secure their rights and access the support they need. At Praxis we train other professionals so they can better support those who have moved to the UK. Whether you work for a hospital, a housing association or a local authority, having a practical understanding of the problems migrants face can be invaluable. We want to build capacity so that other professionals in the UK are equipped with essential skills, knowledge and understanding to support migrants at-risk.

Sharing our Expertise

We work within networks and coalitions to provide training on working with migrants and securing their rights. We delve into immigration law, how it affects people living in the UK, and what can be done to support those in difficulty.

From introductions and overviews to more in-depth courses, we shape our training around what audiences need to know. Subjects include but are not limited to:

  • No leave to remain and how to support undocumented migrants

  • Support available for long-term residents, such as members of the Windrush generation and EU citizens

  • How to support those escaping domestic violence, facing homelessness or destitution or with No Recourse to Public Funds

To know more about the content of our training and course, give a look to our programme. We can provide training from the existing module list or tailor new content to your needs.
