Immigration Advisor – Asylum Support hotels (OISC L1 essential, L2 desirable)  

 

  • Location: Office based in east London and home working  

  • Job Type: Full time 14 hours per week  

  • Duration: Fixed term up to the 31st March 2025  

  • Salary: NJC 20 - 25: £ 34,308 - £38,585 (pro rata) (subject to accreditation and experience) inclusive of London Weighting

We are looking for an energetic Immigration Adviser (OISC L1 essential, L2 desirable) for an exciting position providing immigration advice to individuals in Asylum Support hotels in Islington.  

The project is delivered through funding from Islington Local Authority and will will include advice and casework for residents of two Asylum Support hotels in the borough. The project was initially funded to respond to an urgent need for specialist legal advice to assist with asylum questionnaires and has since expanded to support with a range of different advice issues including reinstatement of asylum claims, Asylum Support challenges and appeals work. 

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the issues faced by migrants at risk and refugees/asylum seekers. They will have a good understanding of the challenges faced by those navigating the UK asylum system. They will have experience and a commitment to supporting migrants at risk in need of immigration advice. They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders.
