Arvinda Gohil - Chair

Arvinda Gohil became the Chair of Praxis is September 2008. She has 26 years experience working in the housing field having begun her career working in women\'s refuges. She has set up and run positive action programmes and been the Chief Executive of two Housing Associations. She was the Assistant Director for London in the Housing Corporation and a Director at the National Federation of Housing Associations. Following the apartheid era, she worked in South Africa running a training and capacity building agency for emerging housing associations there. She now works as a consultant with a strong specialism in governance, equalities and diversity, service excellence, leadership, coaching and community cohesion. Having been born in East Africa, she has a strong commitment and enthusiasm for refugees and migrants. She is former Trustee of VSO and a former Governor of London South Bank University. Her current non executive roles include Hanover Housing Group and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation Place Strategy Group.

Vaughan Jones - Chief Executive

Vaughan Jones is the Chief Executive of Praxis having been involved in its formation and worked for the entire 25 years of its history. He came to Praxis with a youth work background and was the Director of New Horizon Youth Centre for young homeless in Central London. He has also worked for Barnardos and as a teacher. Until recently he was the Chair of JCWI. He has served on many Tower Hamlets committees relating to homelessness and race equality as well as participating fully in the strategic partnerships, especially Tower Hamlets Homelessness Partnership, the Refugee Forum and the Living Well CPAG. He is a Minister of the United Reformed Church and besides his teaching qualification, he has a MTh from Heythrop College in Pastoral Theology. Whilst at Praxis he completed and NVQ Level 5 in strategic management. He was awarded the prestigious Order of Bernardo OHiggins by the Government of Chile in recognition of his work with Chilean refugees during the dictatorship.
