Praxis launches nationwide network on migrant homelessness

We’re excited to share that the Pan-London Migrant Homelessness Network has relaunched as the Migrant Homelessness Network, now with nationwide reach.

Here at Praxis, we’re a specialist in understanding and addressing migrant homelessness. We see the immigration issues pushing people into homelessness and to our doors in need of legal advice. We meet with officials and local authorities to try and secure change on the policies that are causing homelessness or making it harder for people to escape it.

Since 2016, funded by St Martin-in-the-Fields, we’ve run the Pan-London Migrant Homelessness Network where we’ve shared our expertise with other frontline workers in London who are working with homeless migrants and refugees.

We’re aware that the hostile immigration rules that push people into homelessness impact people across the UK. What’s more, those in areas where there are fewer resources and less experience of these issues can struggle to provide options to homeless migrants. That’s why, our Network is going national!

We will be putting on events and trainings across the UK to provide support to frontline workers and enable them to better support homeless migrants.

The national network launched on Tuesday 15th July with an online event reviewing migrant homelessness across the UK. We heard from COMPAS on migrant destitution as well as Homelessness Connect in Northern Ireland, the Welsh Refugee Council, Just Life, and Glasgow City Mission.
